Prep Volleyball Deer Lodge at Butte Central, 7 p.m.
The non-conference match in the Maroon Activities Center has Class A Butte Central returning from nearly a two-week break from competition. Seniors Kelly Gould, Kourtney Kambich, Breanne Krzan and Katie Lyons are in leadership roles for the Maroons, who last played in the Windy City Tournament in Livingston two Saturdays ago. They were 1-2 prior to the tourney. Class B Deer Lodge is 3-2 for the season and led by seniors Kellie Despain, Sydnee McKee, Danni Johnson, Andi Lambert and Morgan Close. Jim Close is the new head coach of the Wardens.
Anaconda at Frenchtown The freshman contest starts at 4:15 p.m. and the junior varsity and varsity matches will follow the 20-minute breaks between competitions. Anaconda is off and running, getting good hitting from Korey Krumm and setting from Kelsey Austin and Nicole Shaefer.
Prep Golf Helena Invitational, 11 a.m.
The two-day meet will involve most of the state's Class AA boys' and girls' programs. Ashleigh Ogolin had a successful summer season and leads the Butte High girls' team. The boys' group has been a fairly even bunch. Pat Holland-Stergar has been the most recent leader in a balanced crew. Play is set for the Green Meadow Country Club and the Bill Roberts Golf Course.
