" Alright to all you Butte folk!!! I know that no one has posted a comment in 16 days on this matter but hopefully all you that are going to keep up on this story read this comment. I read your comments and you all DO NOT KNOW THIS MAN. He is a friend of mine and I can see both sides of the story as a social worker. He is not a bad man and he's not a repeat offender. This is just a freak thing that happened to him and it sucks that this is happening to him.

He did not get this 12 year old girl's cell number, she got his cell number. I am not too sure how she got it but you know just because an adult man is behind bars for something doesn't mean they are actually guilty of the crime they are in for. I can guarantee you that this man is not a threat to any child. He's a good hearted human being who has been around children all his life. I have an 8 year old daughter who is starting to develop at an early age. I would let her be around him today, tomorrow, and in the future. He's not a threat to any child and for you all to sit here and bash him saying he's a "sicko"....maybe you all should go get a life and try to find something to do with your time than comment on stories in The Standard.

The only reason I am leaving a comment is because I'm doing research on a paper that deals with this topic so I pulled my friend's story. He's a good man and although he's in trouble right now, it in no way makes him less of a person. You all are not better than him and no matter where you raise your children fatematter, you will ALWAYS find a sex offender within a mile radius of where you live. It doesn't matter if you live in Bevery Hills. I can almost guarantee that there is a sex offender right around the corner.

I'm here to stick up for him. I see both sides and at the same time I believe my friend. He's not guilty and he's good man who deserves better than this little 12 year old's word over his. Of course the police will believe her over a grown man but there needs to be further investigation into this than they have done. "

I have watched many documentaries and read some studies on child molesting. Where I work we have quite a few offenders. They are now saying that it is a sickness like schizophrenia. There are drugs that can help supress the urges and the thoughts but there is no way to fully cure them. It is imprinted on their mind. You can't force medications on someone.
I am 27 years old and I know that when I went ti High School there were girls that wore things there were not appropriate. But the difference is.....a 16 year old knows better than an 11 year old. No child deserves to go through something like that. What about that guy in the paper a few weeks ago about the sexual abuse to an 8 year old BOY repeated times......my feelings apply there also.
I think you should put both of them in general popluation and let the BOYS have fun with them. "

Many relate to "seeing" or viewing inappropriate images and how they react to this, and I have to admit, the images in our society today are out there (graphic), and those who have the compulsions, do act on them. Many of the predators caught relate how they are affected by that visual stimulation. But, come on now ... a person still has to exercise their ethics or morality, and to knock this town as worse than others, I just really don't know about that. I did hear Pre-Rel system now have s.o's in their system (when I thought they couldn't accept them), and this may explain partly why we see an influx, but I don't know that this is that easy answer to why--

Work could be done in a # of areas, but by and large this place remains a decent place (one in which to raise a family) "

I know several people who seemed very nice and good family men/fathers, who ended up in this very situation.

I think some people are borderline and watching some gal with shorts shorter than their underware, no bra, and everything hanging out, puts them over the edge. Yes, they definately have a problem, but people just got to think before they let their children out half naked also.
I don't think counseling helps these people...maybe there's a drug that could be mandatory to curb their thoughts on this?

" Im from Butte. Born and raised. I have the right to knock it. Sure these things happen everywhere but im sure some people can agree that they hear of this sickness going around in butte waaayyy to often. Maybe if they didn't send all those child molesters to the butte pre-release center from prison to make room for drug dealers there wouldn't be as many as there are in Butte. As far as raising children there, its a lot more than just sex offenders I worry about. The whole town is in need of A LOT of work. "

" I am in no way defending this 28 yr old man but the way the teenage "girls" dress and look these days is very suggestive. Now not every female teenager fits into this category but folks come on this crap happens all the time and you know you aren't getting the entire story in the "Standard".. He needs some counseling and some rehab on trying to get into the pants of someone his own age!!! Obviously there is more to the story because how did this guy get the cell number of the juvenile and how did he "know" her age.. Sounds a little fishy!! "

In the town I live in IN MONTANA the cases are backed up AND we only ever hear about the really bad ones. Don't start knocking an entire town.
