Big Sky honors PSU's Dominic Waters
HELENA (AP) — Portland State guard Dominic Waters has been named the Big Sky Conference men's basketball player of the week.
Waters led his team to a pair of conference victories and scored 41 points in a four-overtime win over Northern Arizona.
Waters averaged 23 points and three assists per game as the Vikings went 2-1 last week, with the only loss coming to nationally ranked Baylor.
A transfer from Hawaii who sat out last season, Waters came off the bench to score a career-high 41 points in a 92-91 four-overtime victory over Northern Arizona on Sunday. The 41 points is a single-game high in the Big Sky this season, and was the first 40-point game by a Big Sky player since Eastern Washington's Adris DeLeon netted 42 against Northern Colorado on Jan. 17, 2008.
