Take your MP3 player underwater

By Emilie Le Beau - 11/26/2008

Remember the great aunt who always gave lame holiday gifts? Fruitcake, bright colored earmuffs, that horrendous denim purse.

Shopping for an outdoor adventurer can make a person feel a bit like that great aunt. A battery charger or outdoor lamp may be desired but it feels weird to give. There are gifts, however, that are both practical for the recipient and fun for the giver.

The Soundwave 2GB MP3 player by Freestyle Audio is a tiny MP3 player that can be worn while swimming, skiing, cycling or riding a surfboard.

The player holds 320 sounds or 2 GB. It is waterproof up to 10 feet and can play for 30 hours before recharging is needed.

It is light, weighing less than two ounces and can easily attach to a swimsuit or wetsuit. It is also designed to be shockproof and can handle tumbles to the pavement.

It is compatible with PC/MAC and attaches to a computer through a USB port. The Soundwave comes with waterproof earbuds, armstrap, USB cable and user guide. Available in blue for $89.99 at FreeStyleAudio.com.
