Mom sues Butte Head Start over daughter's death

By The Montana Standard Staff - 11/21/2008

The mother of the 3-year-old girl who died after she was apparently hit by a Head Start bus in November 2006 in Butte is suing the program's administration.

Chasity Hodges filed a lawsuit Wednesday in Butte district court against Human Resources Council District XII alleging its employees were negligent and responsible for Eternity Ham-burg's death. Hamburg died Nov. 16, 2006, shortly after she got off of a Head Start bus at her grandparents' house at 426 W. Gold St.

A state medical examiner original ruled the child's death a homicide, but later changed it to "undetermined" after a tire print was found on the child's coat.
