Senior Citizens

Senior lunch menus noted The Belmont Center for Senior Citizens, 615 E. Mercury St., serves lunches during the week.

The center asks that people planning to have lunch call the office at 723-7773 by 9 a.m. The center requests a $3 donation; however, the meals costs $5.25 each to prepare.

Salad bar is offered at 11:45 a.m. Mondays and Fridays. Meals also may be delivered to senior citizen shut-ins upon referral by a doctor or social service agency. Free, round trip bus service is available.

Monday, Nov. 3 — Salad bar, bacon and cheese quiche, hash browns, muffin and juice.

Tuesday, Nov. 4 — Closed for Election Day.

Wednesday, Nov. 5 — Cream of potato soup, ham and Swiss sandwich, pasta salad, donut and fruit.

Thursday, Nov. 6 — Fish and chips, hush puppies, coleslaw, brownie and peaches.

Friday, Nov. 7 — Salad bar, pizza, fiesta corn and cherry bites.

Senior activities announced The Belmont center will offer the following activities, except on holidays:

  • There will be a free legal clinic Monday, Nov. 3.

  • Montana Tech nursing students will be at the Belmont every Thursday.

  • Caregivers Support Group meets from 1 to 2 p.m. every other Wednesday.

  • Writers' Group meets at 1 p.m. every other Tuesday.

  • Bingo is offered at 1 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday, and pinochle at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

  • A foot clinic is offered at a cost of $10 per person. Call for an appointment.

  • To get a ride to doctors' appointments, call the Belmont 24 hours in advance at 723-7773.

  • Also, the center will take seniors to Wal-Mart or to the grocery store on alternating weeks.
