Wind energy focus of talk A free, public talk titled "Wind Energy Development in Eastern Montana" will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Friday in Montana Tech's Copper Lounge in the Student Union Building.

The speaker is Mike Carlson, who works with New Harvest Energy, a Montana company which explores and develops wind energy projects in the state.

The talk is presented by Workforce Innovations in Regional Economic Development — or WIRED.

Hot water heat workshop tonight A workshop on residential hot water heating systems runs from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Museum for Fine Arts Butte, 405 W. Park St.

An introduction to hot water heat and system maintenance will be presented by Mike Hogan. His extensive experience in home remodeling includes installation of hot water heat systems and several old cast iron radiators.

The cost is $10 for members of Butte Citizens for Preservation and Revitalization; and $35 for non-members.

Tech library book sale set The Friends of the Montana Tech Library will hold their annual book sale from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Hundreds of books will be available including novels, fiction, and non-fiction.

Also, a large collection of birding books from a private collection has been donated and will be featured for sale.Proceeds go to the Tech Library.

Dance group fundraiser set Dynamic Dance and Tumbling is having a fund-raiser Friday at the Quarry Brewery, 45 W. Galena. From 4 to 8 p.m., the brewery is donating a portion of its beer sales to the dance group. Appetizers will be served and a silent auction is planned. Proceeds will be used to attend competition in Montana, Utah and Nevada.
