By The Standard Staff - 08/24/2008
Library offering free programs for patrons The Butte Public Library, Broadway and Idaho, will offer free programs for adult library users in September, October and November.
A Tech Tips class is planned on Thursday nights, starting Sept. 4 at 6:30 p.m., for patrons who would like to sharpen their computer skills using the online library catalog, e-mail, the Internet, and social networking like MySpace and Flickr (a photo-sharing program).
People will also learn shortcuts for cell phones, and how to better use digital cameras. One-on-one instruction will be available.
Patrons age 55 and over will also be able to sign up for the library’s virtual bowling teams and virtual golf teams using the Wii game program. Staff will assist in training and organizing the teams. Sign up with Anne.
An orientation and introduction to the games will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17. Patrons will be able to try the games and sign up for teams. Bowling and golf attire will be encouraged. Sign up with Diane.
For details about the library and its services, call 723-3361.
