Bangles made 2 ways
By Jennifer Forker - 08/16/2008
Since variety is the spice of life, here are two ways to personalize inexpensive, plastic bangles, which are sold at craft stores: BANGLE No. 1 Supplies you’ll need: Plastic bangle(s) of any width Ribbon Stick-on “jewels” Double-sided tape or glue Assembly: With creative abandon, decorate bangle with the ribbon and jewels. The tape works well with 1/3-inch ribbon; otherwise, use glue.
BANGLE No. 2 Supplies you’ll need: Plastic bangle(s) of any width Seed beads (such as a 100-gram bag of assorted colors) Decoupage mixture (such as Mod Podge) or other strong, spreadable glue Foam paintbrush Bowl (or plate) Paper plate (optional) Assembly: 1. If using, pour a small amount of Mod Podge or other glue onto the paper plate. With paintbrush, spread a thick layer of glue all around the outside of the bangle, but do not “paint” the sides.
2. Pour some, but not all, of the seed beads into the bowl. Roll the bangle in the beads. Set aside to dry.
Note: If you use enough glue, the beads ought to remain embedded once the glue has dried. Expect a few beads to fall away nonetheless.
