Two fighter jets flying over Butte on Saturday
By The Standard Staff - 07/24/2008
Two fighter jets will fly over Evel Knievel Days Saturday around 7:30 p.m.
People will also be able to see the planes fly in Friday at 2 p.m.
The jets, a F-16 Viper and a F-18, will arrive from the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center in Fallon, Nev. This same group recently did a flyover for the Indianapolis 500, said T.J. Harrington of Butte, who planned this and other recent flyovers.
“People get a big bang out of these planes, so they’ll be great to see,” he said.
The pilots include Lt. Greg “Gilligan” Keeney of El Paso, Texas, Lt. Cmdr. Winston “Stoner” Scott of Houston, Texas, Lt. Cmdr. Don “Dolch” Bowker, of St. Louis, Mo., and Maj. Tom “Taz” Yeager, Ashland, Pa.
