Qualifiers announced for Club Boxing bouts

Montana Club Boxing has announced qualifiers for the state semifinals and finals to be held at the Butte Civic Center on Saturday.
Boxers were selected based on their record, quality of opponents and box-off matches, the article said.
Overall, there will be four men’s weight divisions and one women’s classification in the tournament. Four contestants will be entered in each group with a semifinal and championship bout to be held for each weight class. At least 13 boxing matches will be held.
In the light heavyweight and women’s classifications officials are still finalizing three spots, one for light heavyweight and two in the women’s.
In addition, a handful of mixed martial arts contests will also be on the card.
The doors open at 6 p.m. and the fights begin at 7:30 p.m. General admission tickets are $20, reserved $30, elevated reserved $35 and tables for six $240.
All ticket sales are through the Civic Center box office at 406-497-6400 or 1-800-555-8989.
The following is the list of competitors selected for the state tournament:
Lightweight, 150 pounds and under - Chris Asher, Bozeman, 15-9; Cody Reese, Bozeman, 7-1; Keelan Backbone, Billings, 8-3; Adrian Rivera, Billings, 10-3.
Middleweight,151-170 - Keith Larson, Butte, 26-5; Lance Gilmore, Billings, 7-3; Tony Sullivan, Billings, 36-7; Kevin Kline, Bozeman, NA.
Light heavyweight, 171-190 - Brad Shaffer, Bozeman, 9-2; Bryant Acheson, Billings, 29-4; Joe Broken Rope, Billings, 21-5, To be announced.
Heavyweight 191-plus - Matt Salkeld, Bozeman, 13-1; Eric Murtha, Laurel, 1-0; Nate Ellestad, Billings, 5-5; Curtis Smith, Helena, 2-0.
Women’s - Jacquie Miller, Bozeman, 5-1; Javana Gray, Butte, 12-2; TBA, TBA.
