If you like cowboy music — the music of such legendary cowboy singers as Gene Autry, Roy Rogers and the Sons of the Pioneers — you are in for a treat.
With 28-plus years and well over 5,000 performances and counting under their collective cowboy belt, “Riders in the Sky,” the Grammy-winning music group, will present favorite cowboy songs.
These include: Tumblin’ Tumbleweeds, Cool Water, Ghost Riders in the Sky, Back in the Saddle Again, Rawhide and Happy Trails, to mention a few.
The riders are Ranger Doug, guitarist; Woody Paul, a tenor and lead singer, fiddler and does rope tricks; Too Slim, bassist; and Joey, accordionist and “cowpolka king.” They have helped revive and revitalize an entire music genre since they formed in 1977.
Admission is by series ticket, which can still be purchased for $55. This also entitles the ticket-holder to the Empire Brass concert on April 15 at 8 p.m., and the Werner Quartet on May 11 at 4 p.m. For tickets, call the theater, 723-3602.
