SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Danny Stosich scored 21 points and hit two key free throws in the final seconds to help lead Westminster to a 76-73 win over Montana Tech on Saturday night.

The Orediggers (5-21, 1-11) trailed 42-36 at the break and rallied in the second half on 53 percent shooting. They trailed 74-73 with five seconds remaining, but Stosich was fouled and made both of his free throws to seal the win.

LEWISTON, Idaho (AP) — Mike Gordy scored 21 points to help lead Lewis-Clark State to a 78-61 victory against Montana Western on Saturday night.

Brian Duckworth came off the bench to add 14 points, while Rob Comer chipped in 13 for the Warriors (18-8, 9-3 Frontier).

Lewis and Clark led 46-20 at halftime. The Bulldogs (9-17, 2-10) outscored the Warriors 41-32 in the second half, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the early disadvantage.

SALT LAKE CITY — The Montana Tech women suffered through a 47-13 second half en route to an 86-40 defeat at the hands of Westminster Saturday in Salt Lake City.

The Orediggers got 12 points from Adrea Thomas, while Jenessa Todd camee off the bench to score 11.

Elisa Leader led the Griffins with 24 points on 10-of-15 shooting. The Griffins got at least one point from 11 different players.

LEWISTON, Idaho — Breianna Gaines hit two of Lewis-Clark State College’s five 3-pointers in a five-minute stretch of the first half to spark a 19-0 run and help the Warrior women’s basketball team remain alone in first place in the Frontier Conference standings with an 88-64 win over Montana Western at the LCSC Activity Center on Saturday night.

The win lifted the Warriors to 22-4 overall and 11-1 in conference play with two games remaining. Montana Western slipped to 4-8 and 16-11.
