Families request gifts for kids

Mining City Christmas, a community-operated program to help Butte’s neediest families, is seeking help to fulfill holiday wishes. This listing, which changes every week, runs Mondays in The Montana Standard through the holiday season.

To help any of these families, or others registered with the program, contact the Human Resources Council, 700 Casey St. or call 496-4975. People may also volunteer to help the council screen families or put together gifts for a giveaway.

Families screened by the Human Resources Council include:

  • A 63-year-old woman would enjoy bubble bath and bath salts.

  • The mother of two would like them to receive presents including cars, dinosaurs or Nerf balls for her 2-year-old son who wears 2T clothing and size 7½ shoes. His 5-year-old sister would like Bratz dolls and puzzles. She wears size 7 to 8 in clothes and size 1 in shoes.

  • The mother of an 18-year-old girl and 5-year-old girl would like clothes for both of her children. Her youngest wears size 7 to 8 in clothes and size 5 in shoes. Her oldest daughter would like special needs items, teenage things or PSP games. She wears 2X in clothes and size 9 in shoes.

  • The mother of two small boys would like toys for her kids. The 4-year-old would like cars, trucks or a bike and wears size 4T See GIFTS, Back Page Gifts ...

    Continued from Page A1 in clothes and size 9 in shoes. His 1-year-old brother would like anything that lights up and makes sounds. He needs shoes and wears 4T and 18 to 24 months in clothes.

  • A woman expecting a child in early December is seeking newborn items and a newborn winter coat, diapers and clothing.

  • The mother of a 12-year-old boy would like him to receive a prepaid cell phone or CDs. He wars a men’s small in shirts, size 15 in pants and 8½ in shoes.

  • The parents of two teenagers ask the following: Their 13-year-old daughter would like socks, slippers, a robe with a matching towel and ski passes to Discovery. She wears size 6½ to 7 in shoes. Her 15-year-old sister would like the same things except she would like a digital camera instead of ski passes and wears size 9 shoes.

  • The single mother of three teenagers needs help in providing gifts for them. Her 18-year-old daughter would like clothes, CDs, slippers, pajamas, jewelry or hats or gloves for Christmas. She wears large-size shirts, 13 to 14 in pants and size 9 in shoes. Her 15-year-old sister would like clothes, movies, music, slippers, hat or gloves and wears extra large shirts, 18 in pants and size 8 in shoes. Their 13-year-old brother would like hockey things, sweats, a Yankee baseball hat and clothing for Christmas. He wears large shirts, 30 x 32 in pants and size 11 in shoes.
