Seminar set for pesticide applicators An informational seminar on private pesticide applicators licensing and noxious weeds will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at 305 W. Mercury St.
Cecil Tharp, the Montana State University pesticide education specialist, John Moodry, the Butte-Silver Bow weed supervisor, and Toby Day, the county extension agent, will present the seminar.
Private applicators will receive two credits toward recertification.

Anaconda picks Boys Staters ANACONDA — Seven boys from Anaconda will attend Montana Boys State, which begins June 10 at Carroll College in Helena.
They are Spencer O’Brien, Lucas Wagner, Spencer Johnson, Andrew Clavelot, Clark Hensley, Vince Lucier and Travis Hallenbach.
Boys State is sponsored by the American Legion.
4-H Club sets rodeo date Glen Pioneers 4-H Club will hold its youth rodeo at 11 a.m. Sunday, June 24, in the Garrison Arena in Glen. Entries must be in by 8 p.m., Wednesday, June 20.
The four age divisions will be: Peewee, Superstarter, Junior, and Senior. Buckles will be awarded to all-around winners in each division.

Purple B’z tryouts set Purple B’z tryouts are scheduled Tuesday through Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. in the old gym at Butte High School. Participants should use the Main Street entrance. For details, call Becky Cianca at 533-2201.
