Pianist, flutist perform Sunday

By The Standard Staff - 05/18/2007

St. John’s Episcopal Church at Broadway and Idaho will host its “Live at St. John’s Concert” at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 20.

Featured artists will be pianist Ruth Rotondi and flutist Sutton Smith, both of the Butte Symphony Orchestra, playing pieces by Mozart, Debussy, Bach, Jardanyi and Faure.

Rotondi is a graduate of Oberlin College and the Diller-Quaile School of Music. She has worked as pianist, accompanist, and piano teacher in the Butte area for many years.

Sutton Smith holds a bachelor of music degree in flute performance, with honors, from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she studied with Jeffrey Khaner and Martha Aarons, and has played flute and piccolo with the Manitowoc and Sheboygan Symphonies, both in her native Wisconsin. She teaches flute lessons privately as well as for the Young Musicians Club.

For details, call the church at 723-4017. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
